Battery life

Modern smartphones are battery hogs, and gone are the days when you could charge your phone and have it working for a week. The norm for smartphones is that you will have to charge it at least daily. This goes for the Lumia 900 as well, which requires me to charge at least once a day (nighttime) for me to use it during the day. With particular heavy use, I have experienced the need to charge it even during the day. I have a 40 minute commute to and from work every day, and have been charging my iPhone 4 in a combined FM sender/cradle. By doing this my iPhone 4 have survived the day for a long time. Suffice it to say that I have found it necessary to take up the practice with my Lumia as well.

Camera

The camera on the Lumia 900 is placed in the middle of the phone, on the upper portion of the phones backside. This placement makes it less likely for you to have your fingers in front of the lens while shooting pictures. The camera offers Carl Zeiss Tessar optics with 8 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.2, dual LED flash and autofocus. Inside the camera application you have several different settings that you can tweak, as well as save your current settings, if you want to easily return to them after trying out something new. My previous phone is an iPhone 4, which do not have the same good camera as the iPhone 4S or the newer iPhone 5. Anyway, the camera on the iPhone 4 is not bad, and I have taken some comparison shots to gauge the difference. You will find those pictures in the gallery below, and are free to make up your own mind. I have used default settings on both devices, and find that according to my tastes I favor the Lumia just a tiny bit over the iPhone 4. It is a good camera, but nothing to rave about.
